|
|
A couple of years ago I had a site bookmarked with loads of sample TOEFL essays of all different scores. Some excellent, some awful, and a bunch of levels in between. I tried googling around today but couldn't find anything that looked reliable (not looking for an amateur or amateurish site). Does anybody know of a site with lots of graded sample TOEFL essays? With a rubric? Or a textbook with a bunch of samples that I can order from within Korea? I ask b/c one of my colleagues is gearing up for a test, and looking at samples is a good study guide. Thanks. |

Smee,,
If you go to EFL classroom and look under SHARING, you will see a few TOEFL resources (under TESTS).
I do have some more on my other hard drive (one of many!) and I'll get to it and load up some for ya. This Sharing place is meant to avoid the dilema you are now experiencing, sites coming and going and people "hogging" material for teachers like it is gold.....just upload/download there and it is forever...
Also look under Practice -- their are some flash tests there...

Thanks for the link. I'm having a look around now.
Anybody else know of any sites? Or any books they'd recommend, Korean or English? I googled around and found a book with a collection of 6.0-score essays, but I odn't know if it'd be a good idea to order that. Plus, I don't know if it actually walks through why each essay got the score it did. I recall seeing a site like this in 2005, and we did use a TOEFL writing book at that hagwon, but I couldn't find it at a local bookstore. |

ANd from what I can tell, the list of hundreds in the .pdf file on your site aren't graded, right? While I can evaluate them myself (unofficially) and can look over my friend's papers, I'd like to find some that have actually been graded by the company. Thanks. |

Have you tried the ETS site? They seem to have some stuff there under "for English-language instructors". You'll have to kind of look for it. I googled "TOEFL exams" and clicked on the ETS site. |
