Does anybody know anything about the SISA English Institute in Jongro? I'm thinking about accepting a job there. Also, how horrid is split shift scheduling? It's mostly university students and adult businesspeople. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Well if it is is YBM Sisa Young-o-sa, their head office is in Jongro. I haven't actually taught there, but I have taken some classes in the head office building. Talked to a few of the guys who work there and they liked it.

I remember a guy telling me they had couches in the staff room so you could nap inbetween shifts. That was pretty cool.

Also if it is YBM Sisa, you never have to worry about NOT being paid or having housing problems. That is one of the things they are great at.

Yeah, aside from the fact that they don't actually provide housing.

I took Korean classes there and talked to a couple of the teachers as well, with the same results as Mr. Pink - they all said it was pretty cool. Splits suck, but if you get through it eventually you won't have to do them anymore (teachers with a bit more seniority get block shifts apparently).
