I'm watching a lecture by Leonard Susskind on black holes. He's giving it in Canada. He wants to talk about what would happen if you threw a person into a black hole. His slide uses a picture of George Bush. Laughs. He removes it and puts up a slide of Oprah. More laughs. Susskind explains he asked some Canadian colleagues who the stupidest politician in Canada was so he could tailor his slide for his Canadian audience. He said his colleagues thought and thought and couldn't come up with anyone.

Hrm.

Any ideas? I can't say we have particularly brilliant politicians but then we don't have clearly stupid ones either.

Svend Robinson. Remember him? He was the guy caught shoplifting a piece of cheap jewelry on camera. From rising golden boy to lead chump in a flash.

Of course, there is no politician ever elected in Canada who could hold a candle to GW Bush in the moron department.

Who was that lady that talked about crosses burning in Prince George? I think her surname started with a K and she was pretty dumb. Then there's the other guy...ah, Rob Anders. The guy who called Nelson Mandela a communist and terrorist.

There must be many, but just off the to pof my head with googling too much info:

- Mike Harcourt: Bingogate (british columbia)
- Svend RObinson: shoplifting of a ring (british columbia)
- Gordon Campbell: Impaired Driving / DUI (british columbia)
- Ralph Klein: Drunk, went to homeless shelter (Alberta)
- Brian Mulroney: kickbacks from airbus (prime minister)
- Maxime Bernier: Dating a biker bitch connected to Hells Angels

And those politicians involved in the lying about:

- Bad Blood Scanadal
- Sponsorship Scandal

Politicians, even in Canada, are just as greasy as those in Asia or anywhere else in the world - They typically lie, cheat, steal and, in some cases, kill.

3. Preston Manning
2. Sheila Copps
1. Mike Harris

I'd list someone from the NDP or the Bloc/Parti, but they don't really matter in the scheme of things anyway.

Oh, my memory is stirring now. There was a liberal back bencher back in the 1990s. Roseanne Scoakes or something. I forget how to spell her last name. Anyway she went on some tirade about homosexuals, how we should pass laws against them. She claimed she was defending catholic family values. And then it was revealed her 16 year old daughter was pregnant.

I really found that hilarious. A woman wants the force of law to compel morality and yet she has absolute control over the moral upbringing of a single person and she can't keep one person in compliance with her morals. But some how the law and jails would do it.

Here we go:

And then there was another liberal... Jag Baduria or something. I'm really pissin' in the wind on names today. Anyway, he claimed he was a doctor of law but lied about his education (sounds familiar?). He was drummed out of the liberal party. And then I think he went to Iraq before Gulf War I to try and negotiate with Saddam.

mirthrdiates, the funny thing is the previous poster mentioned the thief Sven Robinson-he lost to the whack job, Hedy Fry, who talked about crosses "burning at this very moment."

-good choice of candidates for that Vancouver riding

well if u're in canada at the moment, it's Bernier hands down. All the news channels are talking about him and his resignation. I can't believe they placed that guy in such a sensitive position as minister of foreign affairs. he needs to be the minister of "fucked up" affairs. for shizel.

I'm surprised Stockwell Day hasn't been mentioned yet!

Quote:
Liberal activist Warren Kinsella mocked Day's belief in Young Earth creationism by pulling out a Barney doll during a television interview and stating that "this was the only dinosaur ever to be on Earth with humans". Media covering the Day campaign bus, nicknamed "Prayer Force One", whistled the Flintstones theme song to mock the idea that humans and dinosaurs co-existed. [3]

Cool

Quote:
Day stumbled during two campaign appearances in the first week. A photo-op at a technology firm meant to illustrate a "brain drain" to the US was undermined when the owner reported that he had moved to Canada from the United States eight years earlier. The next day, at Niagara Falls, Day remarked that Canadian jobs were flowing south "just like the Niagara River", when in fact the river flows north.

Laughing

Quote:
Further controversies plagued Day following the election. While he had been a government minister in Alberta he wrote a letter to the editor of the Red Deer Advocate in April 1999 in which he criticized Lorne Goddard, a lawyer and respected Red Deer school trustee, for defending a man accused of possessing child pornography.

Dumbest politician in Canada???

How can all of you guys forget "The Chief" John Diefenbaker!!!! That guy accepted nuclear weapons into Canada without knowing it, and that was after stating publically the Canada would be a nuclear weapons free country!! After this was pointed out to him by reporters. The government took the nuclear weapons out of the missiles they had purchased from the U.S. and put sand bags in their place!!!

Also he is famous for his 30% trade idea with the U.K.

Hands down the winner is this guy!
