Poly Styrene the lead singer from legendary late seventies punk band The X Ray Spex is now a Hare Krishna. She once said, " If I ever became a sex symbol I would shave my head". She later did shave her head.
Her songs delt with eco issues. After only a year she quit the band to become a Hare Krishna. Other punk bands have been known to embrace
Vegetarianism and Anti Nuke Issues including
Crass, Conflict, Flux of Pink Indians, Poison Girls, Rudementary Peni. Dirt |

| I don't know too much about the Hare Krishnas. Are they simply devotees of Krishna who lead a monastic type life and take certain vows? I am more familiar with swami types or Buddhist monks. |
