Over the weekend in Kandahar, Afghanistan, the Taliban sprung almost 1000 prisoners from the main prison there.

Now those prisoners have taken over several towns, driven out the families, and are digging in, awaiting the Afghan Army and NATO's counterattack.

The Taliban seem pretty adamant about fighting to the death this time. So the food was as bad as they say!

Obviously a lot of planning has gone into this by the already-free Taliban members. They don't have any air vehicles at all, so they have no means to defend against an air assault. So they're up to something, besides suicide, that is.
