interweb forums should be brief, not take much of a person's time.

7500 USAs here, i think we are dealing with a culture that is excessively cute and mean. we deal with extremity to benefit from the language deficit our country imposed on this place (planet, whatever). (justifiably.) we easily make an average US wage with non US hours. we do not wake up at 6am. we get to pretend that our job is academic, just like the profs in our good schools.

we deal with a culture that is mean ridiculously. we know who has the bombs. and we know why this is a cute bunch of charlies. a country has a place and it knows it even if it doesnt admit it.

"yet we, if you are a gentleman like me, act like i do.

we get through the day. we say "hi" and "thank you" when we buy something, as if it is us doing the service. we do it in english, as we should. we dont get mad and throw a guitar across the room when a piano dealer corrects us by saying "mo-ru-guess-ay-yo" when we actually said "mo-ru-get-ta." which is what we should have done. since he was 35 and you were 25.

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!

Today is Memorial Day, the American holiday to remember those American service men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

To those of us in South Korea today, Memorial Day is a reminder of those Americans who died for South Korea to be free. Had it not been for them, the South Korea that we know today would not even exist and none of us would be here today.

And to this day countless American service men and women continue to put their lives on the line to defend the Republic of Korea from North Korean imperialism, tyranny and nuclear annihilation.

God Bless the USA! Happy Memorial Day!

Very Happy

Remember what Plus99 said in his first post? This:

"yet we, if you are a gentleman like me, act like i do"

I think that's all the answer you need.

Either that or billybrobby was right. Possibly some of both.
