Hi, i'm in Hong Kong on a VISA run / vacation. Anyway, I brought a lot of cash with me and I want to send it home from here. Can I open a bank account here and wire my money back home while i'm here on a tourist visa? What would be the best way to send money home?
I'm staying at a hostel here and i'm getting paranoid about having all this cash. I don't need it anymore as my Canadian bank card works fine here so I just want to put it somewhere safe. And I don't have a korean bank account.
Thanks |

There is a high probability that your bank back home in Canada has a branch in HK. Just pop in and say you have an account with them and want to put money there. |

wow, thanks! I just looked it up and my bank does have a branch here. I would have never thought about that possibility myself, what with Korea being my first international travel experience. |
