Just when you thought your long lost uncle from Nigeria had succumb to quicksand

So I get this email from Craig�s list personals from a supposed Tica (female Costa Rican) slathering about how she�s beet hurt, but wants to love again. How she loves sex but she�s a one woman man�blah blah blah�and attached is this photo.






Well, something seemed fishy from the start, but I bit; I sent some nice emails in return and we probably exchanged maybe three each.

Well, today I get the scam letter. It didn�t surprise me in the least

My first reaction was to reply with a FU and be done with it. But just as I was about to do that, this little devious side I must have overruled me and the rest is self explanatory with copies of the two letters posted below,

Thannks for the mail and am so happy to have your mail back , you
sound so nice and openminded to me and straightforward in your

qualities am looking for in a man may be, i have no luck on this

several activities that goes on here on the internet. Both the good

as matter of fact i really want to come out to you cos you sounds
straightforward to me. Am not here to meet who will hurt me or let me
down for the second time. Am sorry I've been having a problem with my
Dad who i live with but right now due to our differences, i have left
the USA after the death of my MUM in UNITED STATE. MY Dad works with
Oil Contractors in UK and include some parts of the Asian and
American. I work with my father as his personal auditor and we move
around for his contracts whereever he is awarded.


I have been married for 2 years and now divorced without kids.My
husband, Victor Glashow, absconded with my dad's money which was kept
with me after a completion of a contract in EAST london,UK. When my
boy friend got absconded with the undisclosed sum of USdollars, this
brought the first brokeup between me and my dad, because he thought we
have the deal together, but not knowing that I'm an innocent about
this. So my dad has been harsh and tough against me about this.

I have been single since i was hurt sometimes ago by my ex
boyfriend.Moreso am not here for games or to waste either of out time.
Hence thats why i have decided to tell you the reason why i am here
and reason why am looking for an honest guy that would always be there
for me it was really sad story to tell indeed but i have really
learnt my lessons.

After all these happened to me and caused by my Ex Husband, I joined a
dating online, where I met a guy online here who promised heaven and
earth that he wants to marry me and make me happy in life; "I never
knew I was going from Fry-pan to Fire". The the man told me of an
investment opportunities and he convinced me to come along with lots
of money while coming down, which I did. On getting here, all his
intention was to take away the money from me and leave me alone.he
told me about some GOLD business and olibusiness too, which i beleive
it would fetch both of me more money not knowing he has some hidden
dubious plans, at the long run..he collided with some a guys which he
called his associates not knowing that there were all fraudsters they
only want to reap me off

i just want to be openminded and straightforward to I came from the
United States with a total sum of $2,500,000.00 with all the money
I've gotten from my Dad's business and contracts renumeration Because
the guy told me of an idea to investment in Oil firms here. When I
got here, he made all possibles means to get the money from me and get
away with my money. Then when I noticed this, I hide the money and my
travelling luggage and deposited it with a internation
Security/Insurance Company here , order to safe myself and my assets.
Thereafter I left the guy's apartment to an hotel where I am in right
now and from which I am communicating with you now.

i just wish i could here to the state and get this done as soon as
possible, so i can start up a new life, Please i would be very happy
if you can help me out to get my flight ticket back to the states.and
i promise not to let you down. I also assure you that i will give you
15% of the whole money if you can help me out of here, I dont know how
this will sound to you but i just believe at this point intime i need
not to hide anything from you cos all i need now is a good person,and
honest,and God fearing that we can be a companion and a soulmate for
life, a God fearing that i can always have for his words, that will
not let me down.


please be of help to me, do not let me down and i also promise not to
let you down as well. hope to hear from you.
Without wasting either of our time, i just believe you should be able
to rescue me out, i promise not to let you down. This is real not
fake..the whole thing is %100 legal.

I will appreciate your trust towards this.hoping to hear from you and

Sure, whatever you need. I have no problems helping you. But quite frankly, I don't need the money. You know I mentioned I was from Texas. Well, my family sold all of production to Gulf Oil a few years back and my brothers and I all got close to $4 mill.

Lucky for you that you are savvy as this is a twist on an old scam . Most people are not.

I've seen Bank Presidents caught by the Nigerian scam and the suckers keep coming.

Offer to send a private jet to pick her up in person. Say something like:

"A plane ticket on commercial flights, thats ridiculous. Let me fly over there in a private jet. It'll be a nice wayt o relax and get to know each other. Let me know which airport and I'll arrange a plane right away."

She or whomever did take the bait. She sent a ton more pics and now shes confidence building again and not mentioning money.

I think Ill reveal something totally bizarre about myself.

I suggest reading the book "Yes Man!" by Danny Wallace. It's about a guy who says yes to everything for a while, including several of those scam emails. Hehe. It's just a fun read, since he actually takes it as far as it can possibly go!



On another note, I really do wonder how

a) people actually fall for these things, thereby funding the scam artists
b) the scam artists aren't caught
c) much money do these scam artists make, I really wonder! I'm thinking of a job change...
