|
|
I have about 20 passwords to remember and 5 pins numbers, if I don't use them often enough, I forget them. I have already forgotten some. I do have a password generator, but the other day it got corrupted and I had to reinstall, so I lost all the passwords. What is your system for this |

I use a cipher so I only have to remember a sentence. Only words of a certain length are passwords. When I get a new password, drop a password, or change one, I either add a word, take a word out, or change one. My sentence is currently not grammatically correct, but I won't forget it. All I have to remember is the key. Damn...what was that key again? |

Most of my passwords are the same word.
I changed many pin numbers to the same number.
So only really 1 password and base number to remember.
I keep emailed passwords that were sent to me.
I did forget one telepin I hadn't changed, and it asked for it last week to activate a card. I know have to go through the trouble of sending a passport copy and signature to the company. Apparently my birthdate never matched either. |

Same login name for everything (except Daves') and two different passwords. One password is my primary for the few accounts I wouldn't want others getting into (banks, credit card) and the other is my secondary which really wouldn't kill me if anyone got their hands on. Been doing it like this for almost 15 years and no problems so far. Try to keep passwords to 4 digits and put a couple zeros on the ends of ones I can't. |

Variations on a theme in another language, so that even if I forget one in particular, I can get to it before the magic number of three tries and you're locked out. This is for the important ones. For the bullshit ones I don't care about, something random that I write down and put in a secret lock box, should I ever decide to visit that site again. |

I moved around a lot as a kid, so I use old towns/ street / school names or numbers a lot of the time. |

I write them on the things I need to remember. I have a Sharpie and I write the different PINs and Passwords in the corner of my cards, computers, and such. It's very helpful. |
