My school (EPIK) have just informed me that in order to resign I will need to reach a certain score to renew. They said that the local education office and the school are to give me a grade. This is very bad news as I have had upteen problems with my maniac coteacher, who is on drugs, seeing a psychologist and has severe emotional problems. The school are not happy but the education office have understood all my problems from the beginning (though things have not really changed) and said they would give me the best score possible. They said they will score me on the last three months. The local office (to my face they are very very nice and kind) told me not to worry and it shouldn't be a problem as they are confident in me etc. The regional office have told me conflicting information and when I asked them about renewal they mentioned nothing about this. I am still waiting for them to get back to me (i only found out just now).
I need to know what to do because the only thing that is keeping me here is the thought of renewing elsewhere and then going travelling eventually when im finished.
Should I start looking for new jobs now? I am not fussy and I am out in the boons so almost anywhere would be an improvement.
Should I wait for what the regional office say about this?
How will the new visa laws effect me if I quit and try and renew somewhere else? Will I need all the paperwork again? references, medical check, criminal record etc
I really don't know what to do and the politics of all this leaves me feeling
nervous and uncomfortable. I don't really think I can trust many people in this situation either. |

| re-sign. It doesn't hurt to start looking for greener pastures. Yes, you need all your documents again. |

| I don't know if you are high school, but if so you may not have to worry too much about your co-teachers personal opinion, since this week a survey was given to each student assessing their teacher(s). The MOE and school administrators will put much more emphasis on the results of that survey than what the other teachers think of you. |

Whee!!! I'd love to hear more about this.
If I were you I'd move on to another school and leave that wingnut to cast spells on another FT, god help them. |

| Just a formality, if they like you they'll give you a passing score. If they want to be rid of you they won't. |

This is exactly what I want to do but the problem is in order to move to another school I need this recomendation / score from this school but they are upset because of the problems ive been having with this teacher of mine.
People are giving me conflicting information and I really do not know who to believe. The local office keep saying 'don't worry' but nonetheless...

If your with EPIK the Kyoyuk chung (Office of Education) has the final say. If they know your co-teacher is a wing nut you will be se-signed.
I know from experience. |
