Hello all,
Both my girlfriend and I have been looking to buy new computers. She is looking to spend somewhere in the region of $400-$500 on a laptop and I will be looking at around $1000 on a half decent laptop or desktop, that wouldn't be a complete pain to get back to the UK in a couple of months. I live in Changwon so it would be a little difficult to get to Seoul though if we found what we were both looking for, we would make the trip.
She really isn't looking for anything fancy, just something she can use for Uni and DVD's etc. I am looking for something a little better. Just something of a reasonable size and speed, not for the latest games or anything, just something pretty good. I have used a below average computer for long enough.
Looking forward to hearing whats out there! |

I am clairvoyant. I can see the future. I see you visiting Seoul in the near future, and stopping at Yongsan. |

400-500 won't get you anything in the way of a laptop beyond a dinosaur.
600k will get you into a quad core desktop machine at yongsan.

200k gets you an entry level machine.

Just custom build your computer, saves you a bunch of money and you get what you want.
It's really not hard... you can google it.
It's basically simple lego building, the pieces fit where they belong. But also making sure you tie your wires and allow air the circulate well.
Getting an OS free is easy and so is Microsoft Office.
There are just a few cautions you should take, like don't build it on a carpet. Always ground yourself or wear a static wrist band. If you're really not techy... then whatever --; |

Idealy, we were after second-hand ones. I have seen a few computers floating around on here around the $500 and $1000 marks. They seem pretty decent though some a little overpriced.
I am really not the type of person to build my own computer, I just kinda like the idea of 'plug and play'. Non techy and just plain lazy!
Do they sell refurbished computers in Yongsan? Its just that computers within my price range wouldn't be all that great bought new...
Cheers for the advice though! |

I have one I can sell at the end of August, but that's probably a little long of a wait for you... |

Depending on the health of my current computer, waiting till the end of August wouldn't be too much trouble, providing its what I'm looking for. Got any info?
Cheers |
