My boyfriend is in town for 7 days of my vacation, and I want to show him some of the more interesting and/or pretty parts of Korea.

We're definitely going to the DMZ, but other than that, we have no specific plans. I'd like to take him to somewhere pretty in Gangwondo, but I have no idea where to go. I'd also like to maybe find a non-fancyspa-type hot/cold springs, perhaps? We also like historical sites.

Basically, if you had 7 days to show someone Korea, where would you go?

I'm located near Mokpo, and we need to end up in Seoul.

Thanks in advance!

Road trip! Take highway 2 out of Mokpo. When you get to Chinju take Highway 3 north. You avoid the nastiness and traffic of the expressways and it's absolutely gorgeous. Lots of small places to stay that are very cheap and mostly nice. The only thing you'll miss are the beaches really. Definitely one of the best ways to enjoy Korea.

The best places to visit in Korea are other countries.
