Have any of you guys gone rafting on any really good rivers here in South Korea? I've gone several times in Canada and would like to try it here this summer if there are any worth doing. Good scenery is a bonus, but I'm looking for something pretty wild, not just a float down the river. Any rivers/companies worth checking out?
Thanks |

Thanks - I was hoping to find a place for White Water! Does anyone know some great scuba diving shops too? |

I went with them on the Hantan River. I could've done it in a canoe, very mellow. |

I had a friend who was a class five, white water rafter that was here in Korea for a couple of months. We are supposed to hook up sometime next month while I am back in USA for vacation. He is down in Chile right now rafting.
Anyway, he did raft on a mountain stream coming out of the Seoraksan Mountains that is class five for a couple of days in peak rain because of the canyons, rocks, and drop. It was dangerous enough that he refused to take me (a novice) or his wife who was also a very experienced rafter. He enjoyed the float but said it was mild compared to most five rivers. But this guy was the real thing and purposefully rafted the worlds most dangerous rivers. He also said it was a dog when not in peak rain season.
I am sorry I used to know the rivers name, but I do not any longer. Somebody here should be aware of this river as it is the only class five in South Korea, even if it is just for a couple of days in the rainy season.
Hope this helps. |
