Has anyone heard anything about this school?
I taught at an English Academy last year so I'm kind of scared going into a public school with a much bigger class size.
I can't figure out with students are more eager to learn:
Elementary, Middle, or High School?
Please Help I have to decide soon.

Thanks so much Smile

Regardless of which group you teach, you're going to have students that are not interested in English at all. With 35+ students in each class, it's bound to happen. Elementary kids probably have the most enthusiasm, but I think I would get bored of teaching them the basics of English.

Middle school is hit and miss. I enjoy teaching the first graders, and about half of my second graders are still interested in learning. The third graders are generally quiet and reserved, but once they break into smaller groups they become more active. Personally I would never teach high school, but some teachers on this board really enjoy it.

I think that the best way to make a decision for yourself ... Might also include thinking about which students you have enjoyed teaching the most previously ... Often it is the students that you enjoy the most ... who are the ones who end up being most motivated to learn / participate well in the lesson ... when you are teaching ...

I haven't taught high school students here ... but I was in a public middle school last year and am in a hagwon with kindergarten/elementary students this year (and am trained primary teacher) ... What I have found again ... is that I do personally really most enjoy the kindergarten / elementary students ... and this really is something that students pick up on ... and it really does make them easier to teach ... I know the smaller class sizes do help too ... But I think if I do make the move back into public school at some stage I would probably go into elementary ... because essentially if you don't enjoy / find the teaching more difficult with a smaller hagwon class ... It will be multiplied many times over in the very much larger classes in a public school.
