Jungwhasan dong is a fairly central area of Jeonju. It is located quite close to the main areas for entertainment, such as the downtown area and the university area. Since Jeonju is not an enormous city any information you find on Jeonju will be relevant to Jungwhasan dong too.
Try this expat website www.thejeonjuhub.com and there are also some groups on Facebook for people in Jeonju. |

I work there at the moment - It's a nice area with plenty of restaurants, bars etc nearby, there's a nice river close by with a walkway and recreation areas beside it; reasonable walking distance or 5-10 minutes by taxi to most other parts of Jeonju that you're likely to visit on a regular basis; numerous language schools (and therefore a good number of other expats) in the area. Jeonju itself is a fairly compact but extremely friendly city with a fair amount of things to keep you entertained and a good, well-integrated community of foreigners.
Like the previous poster said, do a search on Facebook for Jeonju groups and ask a few people who live here for their opinions...
Which hagwon are you applying for? I know about a few of the ones in Jungwhasandong... |
