|
|
Hi everyone!
This is my first time posting here. I was wondering, has anyone have their contract changed before? I've been hired with SMOE for August 2008, under Level H (1.8 million won per month), but I would like a contract for Level G (2.0 million won) instead. I'm actually in the middle of taking a TEFL certificate, so I would very much like to upgrade to a Level G contract. I've asked my recruiter about this matter, who didn't send me a reply (& I've been waiting for days). Does anyone know if changing contracts would be possible?
Any help would be great!
Thank you! |

I think this is what you're looking for:
Article 8(Salary)
Quote: |
9. If Employee obtains further qualifications such as a Masters degree or TESOL certificate (with over 100 course-hours) during the contract term, if applicable, he/she will be promoted to the next employment category (with corresponding raise in salary) the month following the date of course completion. However, promotions shall be limited to one pay category increase per year. (ie. Category 3 to 2, or Category 2 to 1; not Category 3 to 1) |

Dome Vans is correct.
The pay level is set. Unless you can convince them you are actually at a higher level, you won't be able to negotiate a pay raise based on your charm or good looks. |

Thanks for the replies.
That's exactly what I was looking for... except I can't find it anywhere in my contract! I certainly hope they'll accept my TEFL certificate so I can get a higher salary! |

They will accept your TEFL certificate (if the course is equal to or more than 100 hours) and give you a raise the month following your obtainment of such.
Remember, you're dealing with a government beauracy - they don't recognise things that might happen. |
