The thirteenth Good Movies Festival Opens This Weekend
Stave Off Summer Heat with Quality Films
The thirteenth Good Movies Festival is to take place from June 13 to September 30 in various popular destinations around Seoul. With the heat rising and the energy level down, the films are expected to provide a method for Seoulites to kick back and relax during the hot summer months.
Good Movies Festival was created to satisfy the cultural needs of Seoulites. Furthermore, its a great opportunity for people to watch some quality films as the films will be brought to public places around the city.
What makes this years event special is in the selection of the 217 films scheduled to be screened throughout the summer months. Unlike years past, the selection committee has taken into account, quality of the film as well as the genre so that both males and females as well as Seoulites of all ages can enjoy the films together. Some of the films that are expected to draw large crowds are Forever the Moment (2008), a film about the Korean womens national handball team that went on to win gold at Athens and classics from the 70s. If youre a film buff and have not had the chance to check out some of the Korean classics, this is a great opportunity to do so.
The organizers took preparations a step further this year by preparing a survey to find out what genre and types of films residents of each district were looking forward to.
All cultural films will be followed by a commentary from an expert. Furthermore, other shows and activities are planned to provide a fun-filled atmosphere for the audience. Magic show, mime, screened film related exhibitions, photo zones as well as others are expected to draw large interest from the crowd.
