Hi there,
I leave for Korea in a few days and I thought about getting some Korean Won to take care of small bills when I first arrive before I have the chance to get to a bank. I called a foreign exchange service in Canada today to ask about getting some won before I arrive in Korea in a few days.
1 Canadian dollar = 840 Korean won
The above was the exchange rate I was offered. I chuckled (laughed really hard inside), said thanks, and went about my day to run the rest of my errands. I've decided I'll just bring US and Canadian currency for things at the start.
But now I need to know about monthly planning for bill payments.
What does your bank offer you as an exchange rate??
I am interested in converting my paycheques from Korean won into either Canadian or US currency.
Thanks. |

It constantly fluctuates. Last time I wired money to my Canadian account 1 million won was in the high 900's. But wiring fees come out from the sending and receiving bank, and the exchange rate has since gone up. |
