you were informed of a school holiday?

My school's birthday was last Thursday, and had no idea it was a holiday until I'd been in my office for two hours (preparing to leave), wondering what was going on (is this a holiday? an in-service day?). Of course, my handler told me she had called my house three times... perhaps in another dimension.

I had no idea, on Thursday last week... (off Friday!) that the school finished about an hour early - I in fact spoke to the V Principal very briefly about two hours into the day, just to see if I could leave early around 4 pm

he agreed, but me not knowing until the afternoon- when everone was leaving- that the whole school finished at 330 pm !

That is why you asked your ct for the school's schedule. My first ct looked at me like I was crazy when i asked for one. Off course, I never received one since he was always so "busy." Nice guy, but crappy for a ct. I never knew when there were holidays or canceled classes. I've stood in the rain waiting for him to pick me up too many times....

My 2nd ct provided me with it on the 2nd week of the new school year. I didn't even bother asking for one. Now I know when there are holidays, midterms, school field trips, etc. Makes my life a whole lot easier...

The school once changed the holidays on me, so on the first day of classes, I was in Thailand. Got a phone call about 10 am, the day after I returned, asking where I'd been.

It's quite possible that your co-teacher simply doesn't have a schedule, himself. After the Thai thing I talked the Vice principal into giving me a copy of the school shcedule and I found that my co workers from other grades would ask to see it from time to time. Apparently, only the head teacher for each grade was given one, and they were closely guarded. I assumed there was some sort of weird Korean control issue behind it.

I asked for a schedule at the beginning of the year. "We don't have" said my ct. But, when they wanted me to teach 8hrs of extra classes a week, suddenly, it appeared. Unfortunately, the school's birthday was not marked.
