Hey, all.
Hi. I currently work in a hagwon and would like to make the switch to EPIK. My current contract ends in December and I haven't seen my family in two years, so I'd like to go home for a while before I start teaching again. What I want to do is go home in December and then come back and teach at a winter camp and then join as a regular part of the school system in March. My main question is when should I apply if I want to start working in March? When should I apply if I want to teach at a winter camp? Can I start out teaching at a camp or do I already have to be part of the school system to do that?
See, people have told me conflicting things about how far in advance I should apply. Someone first told me to go to the local EPIK office and talk to them last month, (and again, I'm not planning on starting until March or January if I can get into a camp). They said I should talk to them that early because it takes a long time to get the paperwork straightened out. Other people have told me applying in the summer is way too early and I shouldn't talk to them until the fall. Who's right?
One more thing. On the advice of the first person I talked to, I went to the local EPIK office last month and talked to a woman there and picked up an application. This month, someone recommended a good recruiter I should go through. Now, I read somewhere else on the forum that once you apply directly to an EPIK office, you can't go through a recruiter, but I haven't turned in my application yet, so I'm okay, right? I just talked with this woman at the office for a few minutes and picked up the application, so I should be okay, shouldn't I?
Thanks guys.[/i] |
