A Canuck friend gave me an effects pedal for my guitar, but I don't know how to plug it into the mains without frying it. The AC adaptor has a 2 pin plug with the flat pins. It says 110v on the box, so how can I use it safely? |

You need to buy a step-down transformer with enough capacity watts or AMPS to match the device's input requirements (written on the box label) or on the bottom panel of the device.
IF you plug it into the wall you WILL burn it out (possibly within seconds).

Thanks. Where can I go about purchasing one of these items? Would Yongsan or Technomart carry them? |

Both would have them in the electrical appliance area. You can also get them at home-plus, lotte department store, e-mart, samsung dept. store - again in the electrical department. |

A new 6V adapter would be cheaper. You can get those in Emart as well usually in the hardware section or near the lights. Just make sure the current (and voltage) output matches what the original adapter does (usually 6V is at something like 700mA or 300mA). |

I would suggest a really really really long extension cord - you might want to check how many kilometres it is to Vancouver. |
