I live near the Guebendari station in Gangdong-gu. It's closer to Myeongil and about a 2,000won cab ride to Cheonho. Most of my coworkers live in Cheonho and we eat there if we're not on our way to Apgu, Gangnam or somewhere else with a better nightlife.

살기 좋은 강동구! Ah the memories. It depends where you live really. It encompasses quite a large area. I lived in Cheonho which had great facilities. It boasted of an E-Mart, and a Hyundai Departments Store, and it was 5 minutes by taxi from Olympic Park. Send me a PM with any questions you have. I lived there for some time.

I'm at Gildong Station. Walked around late one night for about 3 hours. Didn't see anything in the way of department stores. I came across a couple of Lotterias and a TGIF. Papa John's, too.

I take it that Cheonho is the place to go if I want to see a movie/go to the department store, etc.

You could walk from Gildong Station to Cheonho Station in about 10-15 minutes. Cheonho dong is definitely the best place to go for shopping and entertainment. Hyundai Department Store is right next to Cheonho Station. It might be exit 5 but I can't remember.

Walking is good. I'll have to check it out.
