|
|
OK... OK... I know this post is totally non-specific. But I just need a place to start, as I have no experience whatsoever of looking for my own place.
Here are the details:
- I need an apartment for a year or two
- It doesn't have to be very big, just good for a single guy.
- It should be semi-nice... maybe furnished a little (hopefully at least a washing machine), but I dunno how often they are furnished...
- I can pay key money... from 5 millionish to 30 million depending
- Rent should be lower... but would be willing to pay around 500,000 per month max
I am not sure of what area to look into. I'll be working in Sinchon, and want to live anywhere nearby on line number 2 or 6. I am thinking the Itaewon / Noksapyong area or Sinchon or Hongdae.
Now, does anyone here know of a good place to start? Realtor? Or does anyone here have a place, or know of a good one?
Any help would be appreciated. |

Why line 6 if you work in Sinchon?
Anyway, your best bet is with a budongsan (real estate office) in the area you want to live in. Go to all that you see. Or write their numbers down and have a Korean friend call them to find out what's available. |

The place I am working is between Sinchon and Daehung (line 6).
It seems these days as if they want less deposit money and more rent. Hmmm. Anyhow, I will go to the realty places. I am checking on the internet too. The number of "dumps" I see on the internet is amazing, especially at Eden realty. Wow! And I love how the guy who runs that site is completely honest... he says things like "maybe some flooding" or "no mold!" or "pretty women live next door!" LOL.
The nicer places on the net seem rather expensive.
I've seen some ads on ESL cafe, but they seem to be gone... Where did they go? There were some pretty good deals here at once point. |

Scroll down until you find Mandy Kim...She usually has lots of places in Haebongcheon (Noksapyeong).. |
Cool.
I should also add... I do not care about the size of the place. I only care that it is clean / modern looking. I once lived in a place with cockroaches, broken tiles on the floor, breezy windows, and bad floor heating... never again! |

I'd say an officetel is your best bet. They're small but almost all are new and nice and the furnishing is all done for you. |
