So my school delivered yet another long meeting (2nd in a month) about safety and how everyone must endeavour to ensure that no student ever has an accident or the school will be liable...

Then all the teachers traipsed out in their slippers over the dangerously slippery hallway without a word, one of them nearly falling flat on their backs ( which by the way is like that every day).

At my last job, myself and a student ended up in the hospital with broken bones resulting from unrelated, slippery floor accidents at the exact same time. When the doctor told me he also had one of my students as a patient and I found out the circumstances of her accident, I thought - now, they'll do something about it.

My words fell on deaf ears and it never occured to any Korean that there might be a problem.

Slippers and slipping on slippery floors, lol.

I couldn't believe how dangerous it was at my elem. school last year.
The kids never mopped the floors, just dragged soaking wet mops from one end of the school to the other.
In the UK, there would be warning signs out and everything.

I noticed that in slippers, people tend to slide/drag the foot forward as opposed to placing it down firmly as if you would wearing regular shoes.
I think this motion makes a sudden loss of grip less likely, IMO.

In Korea, you seem to be your own health and safety policy.
