I am trying to find more information on the TEFL International course in Seoul. Unfortunately, the web page doesn't give much information.
I am wondering if anyone out there has taken the course, and what they thought of it.

I am also wondering if they have a new course starting in January or Febuary next year.

Thanks for your time
cheers

I don't know about the course in Seoul, but I took the course in Ban Phe, Thailand, last year. I was very satisfied with it overall and it was excellently presented. The high point was 10 days of teaching practice in a Thai middle school, which was a great experience as I've only taught adults in the past. The students had never had a native teacher before, so they were highly motivated. I plan to take the course again in the future at the Seoul location, as soon as I finish my current contract.

I probably sound like a promoter for TEFL International, but seriously it was well worth the money. I think they train all of their teacher trainers out of their Ban Phe office, so I suspect that if the course was good in Thailand it will be good in Seoul. The course fee is supposed to include accomodation, and I think this is a homestay; you might want to check this with them.

Why would anyone want to take the same course a second time?

Professional upgrading. To get your current teaching skill and techniques critiqued by experienced teacher trainers, and a chance to reflect on what you are doing right/wrong now. Maybe it's just me, but I don't think there's anything wrong with repeating a TEFL or a CELTA course every 2 or 3 years, if you have the time and money. I know the guy who designed the TEFL International course; he upgrades it and adds new material to keep it current.

I see your point, but why not take a DELTA or Dip. TESOL?
(By the way, I could tell you some pretty sad stories about Dave Hopkins.)
No reason why not to. I don't advocate retaking a CELTA or TEFL course instead of those, or an MA-TESOL, but if your work schedule only allows you to retake TEFL, why not.

(PM on the way.)

NightWing is the resident poster boy for the courses in Seoul... so needless to say he's a little touchy...

I second the OP's original query since I am considering taking the TEFL Int. one month TESOL certificate course in Seoul also.

I must have missed something because I confess to being puzzled by Nightwing's cryptic 'Watch it pal' comment and by SarcasmKills' equally enigmatic reference to Nightwing being 'the resident poster boy for the courses in Seoul...'

Nightwing, if you have experience of this course or any relevant information about it (or if anybody else has), I would be interested to hear your observations.

Yea, I took the course, actually finished it friday.

My message was not "cryptic", I was talkin to SOME WAYGUG_IN about the little play on words about "Some people type and type". A little playful work on the poetry following my posts.

As for SARCASM that low-down, dirty yellow bellied fool will cut me down any chance he gets. Smile
