|
|
I'm sure people have experience with this one, but I'm at a loss -
My visa runs out on August 5th - but I'm planning a vacation starting before that (August 1) and getting back after (August 15). Would they allow me back in the country if my visa expired? Should I go to renew it beforehand? What is the window of time for renewing a visa? Thanks for any help. |

You can extend your status of sojourn any time during the last 60 days of your stay. (you can extend your visa any time within the last 2 months).
IF you leave and your visa expires you WILL have to apply for a new visa (with all that a new visa application entails).
IF you extend before you leave, BE SURE TO get a NEW re-entry permit (even if you are American). Your OLD re-entry privilege WILL expire on the date indicated on the face of it (or your original visa if you are American).
