I used to live there actually, and I occasionally go back to visit my old friends and Hagwon.
Its not a bad place. More affluent area of Incheon with lots of families. There are some really good Korean resturants there, some of the best Gamjatang Ive had outside of the countryside.
There is also an awesome new foreign bar that just opened up, fridays nights it packed pretty tight, with live music and events (they have a facebook). There is a pretty good foreign community that all knows eachother and is pretty chill. If you go there Im sure your coworkers will be able to introduce you to some people. There are enough foreigners that you can make friends fairly easy.
Its three subway stops away from Munhak soccer and Baseball stadiums. Even if you arent into sports i suggest going, its a lot of fun. Great weather, beer for 2500 won, some popeyes and 2,000 won seats in the outfield.
The only real drawback to living in Yeonsu is that from the subway its about 1hr to Yongsan. But most people I know who live there never go to Seoul but maybe once every couple weeks, they have everything right nearby.
PM me if you have anyother questions.
BTW what school are you looking at? |
