My wife's in Seoul right now; I'm in the States on vacation. If I use Skype to call her Korean cell phone, will she be charged to receive the call? I assume not, as she isn't charged to receive local calls, but I just wanted to make sure before I go and ring up a bunch of int'l minutes. Smile

You'll be charged about 9.7 cents (SMS message) or 7.3 cents (cell phone, landline might be cheaper) a minute with a 4.9 or 5.635 cent connection fee. The first is without VAT the other is with VAT.

My account area doesn't show which I was charged for, and it doesn't explain what VAT means. I paid 62.3 cents for a 7:24 call.

I would make a short call first and see what they charge. You can always call back again. If they have internet access, I suggest using the free method (using the mic) instead of calling.

Note: I think there is a mistake on their connection fee page, just compare South Korea with Japan and you'll see what I mean http://www.skype.com/prices/callrates/connectionfee/

My account info reflects Japan, not Korea.
