I saw a thread about this before but with the almighty search function on this site it is damn near impossible to find anything. If you can find the previous thread then just post it here and save us all the effort of discussing it again.
But here we go anyway..........
I recently got my F2 visa and want to start doing some privates.
I called city hall and there was nobody who could give me the correct information.
Is it necessary by law to get a tutoring license?
How do you go about getting this license?
What restrictions do they put on the license concerning the fee you charge and who you can teach?
Thanks in advance for the info |

Go to your district education office with your documents and fill out the form. Give them 2 passport size pictures and 6,000W. (pretty sure it was 6, don't hold me to it.)
They will discuss rates with you. 120k per month (5 hours a week) for elementary and middle school and 150k per month for high schoolers. Book rates and material fees are your own affair. You can have up to 9 students at a time.
They will also give you an info sheet to handle the tax office. You need to call them within 20 days of getting your tutor's certificate. |

Search Dave's via Google...and also remember that the link you are probably talking about is a sticky in this forum:

I think it is on that thread that I explained in detail everything. My experience with the KYC is that I can can charge 200,000 per elem. kid @ 5 days per week and 300,000 per secondary student. Prices allowances went up this April, but didn't check.
Nine kids per group is what we were told too...but that ain't gonna happen anyhow. Also, if you split the class up some classes yours some another's the fees can also be split...so, for example, we could feasibly charge 1 student 600,000 a month. Just sayin.'
The trick is not to be greedy and offer superb services. We've full groups, all in our home (easy commute), in block schedule and with a long wait list for each group.
Enjoy!

| Thanks for all the information. I also read through the sticky and know what to do now. It seems easy enough. I got my F2 visa with the greatest of ease so hopefully this will also go well. |
