I have read the stickies, but would appreciate a recent take on this:
I've just got here, and obviously need a phone, do I just buy a used one (from Itaewon?), or wait til I get my alien card and get a contract (but then do I also need a Korean credit card?)

The LG store will give you a monthly contact in your name......
with a ARC and passport.
You don't need a credit card if you are willing to pay for the phone up front (350,000~900,000). But if you go the credit card route, it doesn't have to be a korean c-card.
The other options are to buy a "card phone" where you pay a certain amount and when that amount is used up then put some more money down. It is usually more expensive air time wise. any phone you have or buy can be used... |
