Hey,
I'm thinking of going to South East Asia for summer vacation (end of July). I know it's the wet season most places, but I heard it's dry in Indonesia.
Any ideas or should I stay in Korea?

Bali looks awesome for those of us taking vacation in July or August as that's said to be the dry and sunny month.
I thought Japan might be an option, but I think Bali in August would be highly rewarding more so. I suspect NE Asia is going to be more expensive than usual this Summer with the influx of Olympics tourists coming into the area.
I wonder how expensive it would be travel to Bali for 2 weeks? I don't know how to use Korean travel sites. (yet) And Western country sites in English are no use once you're outside of them. Of course, there's travel agents. |

Looks like only me and Papa Smurf are going on such exotic travels to fantastic places farther than Thailand. Thailand sucks in our Summer, but Bali is just right, according to many online sources. OH, just think of the gorgeous women in shiny dresses with golden headdresses dancing to gamelan music in front of ancient palaces and the pearl white sand beaches with hotties and coconut palms on a 75 Fahrenheit day with low humidity for 2 weeks in August while it's much hotter and so miserably humid in Korea. I couldn't come up with a smarter idea for a July or August vacation than this and the OP is right on about his idea of Bali.
Get out there and travel; quit being so stingy with yourselves. You can still save some money if you travel sensibly. It's cheap in Bali. |
