IS it just my imagination, or is it becoming unreasonably difficult to get a public school position in Korea these days? I recently spent a year in Japan. I had some wonderful experiences, but the cost of housing was too much. So, I got a summer job in the U.K. and decided to teach in Korea, because the lifestyle is more affordable.
I asked for help through Worknplay, and they sent me the SMOE form:I want to teach in Seoul, or a big city. However, it had to send it and my documents before June 15th:much quicker than with Interac. The form itself was a lot longer than what I'm used to, and I had to rely on slow, temperamental computers at the library, to scan and send my stuff. Then I was told that SMOE had truculently rejected my application...I had ommited something! I couldn't do a second application.
So, Worknplay sent the EPIK form. I applied, but the computers were still slow. Then Worknplay said that EPIK had stipulated that the form must be typed. So, the staff at Worknplay will type it for me. I thanked them, as I am grateful.
So any advice about these application forms? I have experience, and my recent experience in Japan would make it easy to work in Korea. It would be fun.
But what would it be like? Would I get any vacations? So, advice on application forms, please! |
