so.. im selling my nikon d80 dslr. it seems like everybody on dave's eslcafe has an opinion on the pricing of used equipment here. so.. how much do you think should be my selling price?

it was bought in korea. its about a year and a half old. mint conditon. im not sure if its "jung poom" or "nae soo".

I would say you can get about 10,000 won for it... And even though that is a little rich for my blood... let me say that i will take it off you hands for that much.

For mint condition and low use you should ask 80% of the lowest danawa price. Check danawa.com and price accordingly.

I'd say more like 70%.

Who would pay 80% for no warranty and nobody to go back to if something goes wrong.

That being said. Danawa price is 644K. @70% = 450K would be a fair asking price.

Am I the only one who never believes these "mint" condition claims? Not even mint-, just mint? You dropped about a million won on a camera and never used it?

For the record I said mint and minimal use. He said he's used the camera for a year and a half. In his case 70% is about right.

However, looking back at my post I guess it did look like I was implying he should price it at 80%. My apologies.

i'd value it based on usage and shutter actuations.

D80 might be rated for about 50k of clicks. so if you've ripped 10k or so in a year, you've used about 20% of the shutter's rated life.

if so, then i'd say body alone 400,000 won is reasonable.

sadly, bodies don't hold resale value. although the D80 is a good camera, it's now older technology.

thanks hanguker and superdave for your responses. that was most helpful.

its replies from users like atavistic and djtwotone on dave's that has me quite cynical and jaded about the people on dave's eslcafe....
if people don't have anything useful to contribute keep your 20 won to yourself.

Hey dude, I just want to know why you rate it MINT. If you can't answer that, maybe you shouldn't be selling something used. It's not rocket science...
