Here's the deal with used air-cons....

Assuming your place is probably a 10 to 12 pyoung efficiency (just a guess), then about any of the wall-hanging ones will suffice, although I'd shoot for one that's listed as 6 pyong or more. We have a 10 pyong and it works great in our 16 pyoung 2-room place. They are overrated. New ones are going to run about 280,000 to 350,000 installed. Used ones can be had for around 170,000 and up, but will cost you another 60,000 to 100,000 to haul and install. A used one will likely smell like the place it came from... if they smoked: yuck. Used ones are sometimes sold having leaks, although stores will generally stand behind what they sell. It's not fun to get them to come out and fix it 3 times before the agree to replace it, though.

Personally, I'd just buy a new one... like this, which is an 8 pyong model but not sure if it's an installed price (ask a Korean friend to read it):

Used American-style window one which may not fit in your place easily:

Now they are starting to use square meters. Take the pyong X 3.3 to get the sq. meters, if memory serves.

Careful HERO, NONE of those you found on the 'net include instalation. The prices of any AC units in any store NEVER incluse instalation. Closer inspection of your helpful ads show that delivery, instalation and the amount of "gas" or refrigerant has their own prices and variable rates.

As for cleaning the AC of the smells; grab a can of automotive AC cleaner.

Your "close inspection" wasn't that close. And please try reading where I said to check if they included installation, which is around 50,000 on a smaller wall unit.

The extra costs start adding-up if you need extra-long tubing, etc. That, more often than not, is what they're talking about. There are many AC's with free delivery found online. Refrigerant is generally included with an install as part of the install package. Extra refrigerant later is what can cost (like if you sell your used one and someone else buys it).

By the way, do you expect you'll get refrigerant free with a used one? How about delivery? Installation? You'll certainly pay for all of those with a used one.
