Trying again....server bombed when I hit send.
My brother was sent to S. Korea for a teaching position without, yes, without his visa. He was to fly to Japan the day after he got there to get it. Well, apparently, the idiot at Veritias doesn't know his job. Can't do that. He also failed to have him get his b/g check authenticated. So a month later, after getting that done, he's finally going to fly back to LA to get the visa. Loooooooong story, but at least the school is paying for all of this. Personally, I'd rather behead the guy at Veritas for pulling this c**p. (Okay...enough of that.)
What I really need to know is if anyone can direct me to a good website that offers tips for the visa interview. I found one some time back that was part of the Korean gov't's website, but darned if I can find it again. Can anyone help? Also, any sound advice is gratefully accepted.
Thanks in advance,
LilSis (trying to help her big brother) |

| This visa interview is not anything to be afraid of .... And does not take very long to do .... And what they end up actually asking will probably depend upon which consulate you are applying to ... I have heard of questions like why Korea? But managed to avoid the interview myself because I had previously had an E2 visa |

I don't recall anyone coming on here to post any complaints about the interview, except for saying it was pointless, the questions were pointless, it was so short, etc.
Some interviewees have said that they were asked for copies of their transcripts and diploma... |

I read from people on here that the consulate interview usually lasts about five minutes. It looks like you have to be a real imbecile to fail it. |

I managed to find some info on a Korean site, which also mentions the questions are simple and directed toward the reason for entering the country (i.e. teaching, etc.). I know my brother will be fine, but flying from S. Korea to LA for a 5-15 minute interview is not going to make him very happy. Poor guy.
I also read where some people wear a suit & tie. That's the last thing he has. Maybe some khakis and a nice shirt, but no suit and tie.
His documents, transcripts, contract, etc., were all sent over prior to his arriving in Korea. I guess he needs to fill out the application for the visa, but I believe the other paperwork is in order. I'll let him know to double check everything before he flies out.
Thanks for the replies. Any more info, please send. It's much appreciated! |
