Can anyone recommend some good hospitals or practices that deal with knee problems in Seoul, please? I have used Yonsei Severance before but was wondering if there are any places people could recommend through personal experience.
It's not an overly pressing matter (eg something torn) but its something I would like to address. The more English spoken, the better.
Thanks |

I had a co-worker a few years ago receive treatment and surgery on a knee at the Mokdong Edae Hospital in Mokdong. He was pleased with everything although that was quite a few years ago, and docs may have changed since.
But the doctor spoke English and he recovered quickly from the surgery. |

Yesh, that's the one. In Korean (for taxis and such): Edae Mokdong Byeongwon.
They have an English website:
http://eng.eumc.ac.kr/mokdong/departments_view.asp?pnum=2&snum=3&dcd=28
Looks like they have a 'Knee Joint Clinic', and from the looks of it, the knee specialist did a fellowship at Harvard, so most likely he has some English ability.
On a side note: From my experience in Korea, it's necessary to shop around and find a hospital and doctor you like and can trust. I recently went to 4 major hospitals in Seoul for treatment, and I found Edae Mokdong to be the best for my needs (in terms of cleanliness, modernity, efficiency, expertise and English spoken by doctors--for a non-international clinic). Plus, I find this hospital to have a nicer vibe than others because there are more woman doctors and staff around, providing a softer touch.
Yonsei Severance in Sinchon is by far one of the best hospitals in Seoul too, but if you can't find a specialist there that suits you, I do recommend checking out Edae Mokdong. |
