Does anyone know how to get a criminal background check? I need it for a teaching job in Korea.?

I just got hired for the Teach and Learn in Korea (TALK) Program but I need to submit a criminal record check. I am a U.S. Citizen, grew up in the Philippines and currently live in Berlin, Germany. Any tips on how I go about this? I have no criminal record but I need to submit proof for the school.

Since I lived most of my life in the Philippines, do I get my background check from there? But as an American citizen, arent I supposed to get a background check for the US? But since I live in Berlin, Germany, how do I go about this?
