Hey... I'm planning on moving to Itaewon. I'm just wondering who out there has had a problem with burglaries. I have noticed a few posts in the past about this, but wonder what the current situation is like also, and if I have enough "measures" to ensure I won't get burglarised... The area around "The Waffle Factory" and up the hill... safe?

Anyhow, I do plan on the following:

1) Changing the locks when I move in
2) Installing my own electronic security lock (the one where u enter the code to enter)
3) Putting a sticker or two around my building saying we have CCTV or a theft prevention system
4) Getting insurance for the electronics
5) ?

I'll be living on the 4th floor (thankfully) but still... Just wanna be as safe as possible. Not because I am worried about losing money, or the value of items. Sure, that would suck. But the big reason I am concerned is because the stuff people might wanna steal has stuff on them which is worth way more than mere money.

By the way, I lived in a much much worse place than any place could possibly be in Korea. I lived nearish East Hastings Vancouver... hehe. If anyone knows what that is like, to me, Itaewon seems like happy-family-land.

Myself and 2 mates who live in Itaewon and Haebongchon got robbed 2 months back in the same week......

being on the 4th floor shouldn't be a problem, we were all on the 2nd floor.....but just incase, i'd recommend burglar bars on bedroom and bathroom windows.
