Wondering where everyone gets there torrents from, i mean from local trackers etc. based out of korea but with english movies etc....
Im signed up to private sites, but the rates arent more than 1.5MB/s at max, just cos there aint enough seeders with enough bandwidth - compared to here.
But we have sick internet. And could easily seed stuff to death locally. |

Not happy with 1.5mbps???
That's a TV show in less than 2 minutes. A movie in 10 minutes or less.
If you want the highest download rates then you need to move on from bittorrent and get into the file-hosting thing. Open an account with Rapidshare or Megaupload and then hit the sites linking those files. Megaupload promise to max out your internet connection. Speeds of 10mbps are common. |

The files are up there on the file-hosting sites, but how do you find them?
Also, what id you have multiple RAR files. It just so happens Rar .024 doesn't exist anymore on the file hosting site. You have just been screwed. |

but really that 1.5 doesnt stay for that long, its not really consistent.
And considering we could get like 6-10MB/s which is stupid fast....thatd be great.
Usually, even on private trackers im getting 500 ish.....still takes a while to get something... |

You just haven't gotten into the "exclusive" sites |

We could create a tracker or a megaupload log for use amongst ourselves... It wouldn't be too hard. |

Great idea. If people are serious about this I'd love to be involved. |

Here's one HD movie site that uses Rapidshare and Megaupload.
http://www.hdtvworld.org/default.asp
I haven't actually used it myself yet as I don't have an account with a file-hosting service yet. But I intend to get one soon when I get my home-theater set-up going.
I think you're supposed to use a little bit of software which copies all the .rar files from hdtvworld.org and allows you to paste them into, say Rapidshare, and then sit back and let all the files come in at ultra-fast speeds.
I'm sure there's a FAQ around on how exactly to do it. Like I say, I haven't done it yet.
The uploaders of this site seem pretty genuine people who keep hosting a movie for as long as they can. A missing .rar would be a bummer, but I think the people on the good sites try to not let that happen. |

1.5MB/s is pretty damn good imo.
The problem with most torrent sites, even private ones, is older stuff is going to have those slow seeders, so good luck getting 1.5MB/s off some guy in Flordia with a capped upload of 30KB/s.
I suggest if u want to get 5-6MB/s, download ALOT of things at once.
You could also hit up newsgroups, a decent paid server should get you at least 2-3MB/s or more if you got that l33t fiber.
I only do DVDs on private torrent trackers, and typically I have to grab a few DVDs to max out my bandwidth unless the uploader is from Korea, then it comes it at max what I can handle or the uploader can handle.
You could always try to get on some private sites and seed a lot, that will open doors to more private sites etc. |

I use a few private sites....there good, but not GREAT. If there were korean sites or trackers we would be set....the up/down speeds we can get here are faster than almost anywhere else in the world...but were not fully utilizing it.
Sure multiple downloads is useful, but not that many new movies come out that i want....that i can watch that quickly...
We need a private tracker..... |
