ok, i wish i thought to ask this sooner because its been a much bigger headache than it should have been.

apparently separating the garbage is a much bigger deal here than it is in the US. i never recycled in the US. i get here and there are maybe 5 options in the garbage area of my apartment. but every time i have tried to take out my garbage, i am left with half a bag full of trash that doesnt look like it is appropriate for any of the 5 containers. at that point, i usually just say "fk it" and leave the bag half full.

am i the only one having this problem?

Where I was we had old ajummas that would rummage through everything and then sort it.

I just tossed out my stuff in what ever sized bag I wanted to and let the scavengers go at it.

okay so this is a dumb question...but don't they have a 'misc' type container? ie, for everything that doesn't fall into the other categories?

i lived in a dorm in korea so didn't have to deal with recycling, but when i lived in finland there were about five containers: glass, plastic, compost, paper, and everything else.

that's my best guess!

Take your garbage outside.
Throw it all up in the air.
Whatever doesn't come down, God dumpster dove on.
The rest you need to deal with.
