Hey all,

This summer my Korean girlfriend and I will be travelling to Canada for a few weeks to attend some weddings. She has been to Canada to visit a girlfriend before but I wanted to know if this time would be any different as she will be travelling with me.

My main concern(s) is(are) this (these): What should we say/do at Customs and Immigration to get the least hassle?
I think there are lines at Pearson for visitors and lines for Canadian citizens, right? Should we separate, then? If they ask her who she is visiting, should she say "a friend" or "I'm visiting with my Canadian boyfriend who is right over there."?

If anyone has had any experiences with this, I'd like some advice, please.

Thanks!

P.S. I don't have a boyfriend, but I just threw that in the title to make it easier to search for. I searched for this info and after going through 10 pages of threads, I couldn't find it.

You are traveling together, you can go through immigration together.

Be honest at the counter. She is there with you, will attend some family events and a wedding, then she will be heading back to Korea.

She will have no problem as long as she has a return ticket and funds for her stay. No worries.

Thanks ttompatz!

I figured you'd be the first to answer and I'm glad for it as I trust your advice. She will have funds for her stay but will they ask for some sort of proof? Would she have to show her travellers cheques or a bank statement or something?

Thanks again!

She is traveling as your guest - there will probably be nothing more than a cursory question or 2: Purpose of visit, where will you stay, where will you go, what will you do, when will you return to Korea?

A credit card or international ATM card will usually suffice for cursory proof of funds.
