|
|
Ok. So so far I've managed to battle my way through downloading bit torrent and a subsequent disney movie despite my computer refusing to tell me anything / ask me anything in a language I can grasp. Now I'm sort of stumped in regards to getting it to play. The computer does have windows media player, and I tried just dragging it but that's about the extent of my computer skills. How on earth does one get it to play? Please send help. |

to make programmes install in english
set unicode language to english
start (시작), control panel (제어판), 날짜, 시간, 언어..., 숫자,날짜 및 ...
the first drop down menu is the unicode language. change it to 영어 미국
then hit apply (A). Then restart. all your menus will still be in korean but the programmes will install in english |

If VLC player won't happily play it (and you need new/different codecs) you can get the Combined Community Codec Pack and install it. Then you should be able to play any/everything with VLC or Windows media player.

One other type of file that you may have downloaded is an .iso /.img file.
These are disk images and will need to either be burned to a disk or "mounted" like a disk before you can use them. |

Another vote for CCCP. It's the best codec/player solution out there right now.
VLC should also work for most regular users. |

One vote for smplayer. Similar to VLC but I've had some minor issues with VLC especially at file starts. Smplayer is also a tad slicker in my opinion. |

I'm not sure you guys read the OP's question carefully. The OP was asking how to play it, not advice on players. "Dragging" it around...
how about the old "double-click"? |

The op was asking how to play it, what would happen if she double clicked it and there was no sound or no picture? as what likely would have happened. Most media players can play a file if you drag and drop it inside it |

Ha! I know, I know, but I lie not.
Alright now. Still having some trouble. Mainly given I've never downloaded a torrent before. Just to get this straight, I don't just have to find the torrent online, click on download, wait for it to do so, and open it with a media player? I have to change the file? I have no idea how to do this. I just want to try out the new classroom tv. I just want to download a movie and click play. MEH.
Also, I downloaded a couple of those players and nothing has happened. Is it possible to change all my computer into English instead of Korean so that I'd have a better idea of what's going on? MEH, again, to me. |

you downloaded a movie, right?
how was it packaged? did it come in a folder? a .zip file? a .rar file? or just by itself as a movie file?
if it's zip or rar, you need to unpack it (altools.com)
if it's in a folder, or a movie file, just double click it.
if it won't play, because the media player mentions a codec problem, try using a different player such as divx, vlc, gom, etc.
do me a favour, tell me what the file extension is that you downloaded.
