I wondered why I had not received a billing statement since April and why my automatic bill pay was not taking the money out of my account. So I attempted to log in today to see what the deal is and manually make a payment.
Check this out. The site says there is a systems outage and it is anticipated the updates will be finished by May 13th. May 13th?! Wow, it's already 2 months behind. Check it out.
http://www.dl.ed.gov/
Due to the systems update long being over due, could this indicate they lost the account records in the U.S. Department of Education's National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) due to a hacker or other systems failure?
Duh!!! Maybe we will get a huge break. I hope. Oh well, if I don't have it paid in 22 years from now, then it is to be forgiven and I pay tax on the principal amount. They are probably hunting down all the records through school financial aid offices to recompile all the accounts as to why it's taking much longer than anticipated. |

My automatic payment has come out the past couple of months. This month's payment is coming up in a week or so, so I'll be on the lookout for it. |

Do you have a Direct Loan or another loan servicing agent? I have the federal government department of education Direct Loan due to having consolidated through them, but I'm not complaining as it was the smartest move to consolidate to a fixed rate 3 years ago while rates were still low. And now I'm getting a temporary break. |

I have no idea to be honest. I know that's the website I visited a while back to set it all up. |

That was almost relevant. Par for the course with your posting history though. You're like the moron on the soccer team that runs the ball the wrong direction. You're in the game but *beep* all if you know what to do. |
