|
|
I just bought a 26" monitor to add to my laptop. I figured out how to set it up and when I did, I disabled my laptop screen so i could mainly use my laptop as the hard drive. but, then I was rearranging the resoluion settings and I went too high so the main monitor now reads: "out of range". when this happened before, i just readjusted the settings with my laptop screen but now i cant see anything. I think my only chance of fixing this mistake is by changing the resolution settings by using the keyboard controls. I even tried using a separate desktop monitor but it would register a signal.
can anybody help me with the sequence of keyboard controls to get to the control panel, then to display options, then to screen resolution settings? or are there any other options for me?
I really hope I didnt just mess up my whole system
also...if anybody can help me...what is the best setting for a 26" monitor.
any help would be great
thanks |

Are you using Windows?
Try booting up using safe mode and set your screen resolution there then reboot. This usually always works for me. Either that or look for the display output keys (could be on some of the function keys) and try those. |

When the computer boots up, press F8 after you see the computer logo until you see a Windows menu, one of the options indicates a Safe mode that you can select. Give that a shot. |
