Does anyone know if its possible to get a job teaching Spanish here in Korea? I met a guy from Barcelona and he mentioned it awhile back. Any details would be great! |

Spanish is taught by foreign professors at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (외대) according to a Spanish diplomat I know. I've also met a foreign professor teaching Spanish at Daegu University. I'm not sure about other places, but I'm certain about those two universities.
I don't know if they would help you, but it might be worth contacting the Embassy of Spain in Hannam-dong. |

There's an institute outside the Gangnam station that advertises Spanish classes (Spain-uh). Somewhere approaching the Kyobo building. Saw it again tonite. Not sure if Koreans are lining up for it. |

I teach my co teacher Spanish (FOR FREE) and another one of her friends, in exchange for Korean and Mandarin.
Also, I've used the "do you WANT to learn English" pick up line on about four separate Korean girls (note: this has not worked) and invariably the answer is "no, I want to learn spanish". It seems to be popular with some of the ladies here, based on that small sample size. I'm sure you could swing it once you get some word of mouth going (and you could get some valuable language exchanges going). |
