Hey with (American) Thanksgiving coming up in a few days I was wondering if there were any bird farms where you could buy a turkey/quail/pheasant. Something semi-traditional. I'm pretty late on this, but the only thing I could find was a frozen one from Costco and that's not exactly what I had in mind. I'd rather go to a duck restaurant than eat a bird that's been frozen for weeks.

Other ideas for a traditional style meal?

Too late for that. I live on the east coast and can't make it to a costco this week. Really posted this thread too late. Thanks, though.

Sorry to dissapoint Milwaukie. Has there been any bird flu in Korea?

South Korea Confirms New Bird Flu Outbreak
By JAE-SOON CHANG, Associated Press Writer
Sat Nov 24, 1:14 AM ET

SEOUL, South Korea - South Korea's first bird flu outbreak in eight months forced the slaughter of thousands of ducks in the country's south Saturday, although the deadly H5N1 virus was not involved, the government said.

The virus that caused the latest outbreak was a "low pathogenic" H7 strain that has not been known to spread to humans, said an official at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.

Quarantine workers slaughtered about 17,000 ducks at the farm in Gwangju, about 205 miles southwest of the capital, Seoul, the official said on condition of anonymity, citing office policy.

The outbreak, South Korea's first since March, was confirmed on Friday, the ministry official said.

Eh. Still not going to stop me. Bird flu is like the measles, best to get it out of the way while you're young.
