It seems like a good program and lots of long-term teachers there. Pay is a little low and hours a little high, but overall I was impressed. Anyone have something to say about the place, both good and bad. |

Yeah, I've got something to say: thanks to your post, I'm contacting them for an interview! Bwa-hahahahahaha! |

Soongsil tries to convince themselves that they have a very unique and great program. BS. The staff are serious though, but the pay is an insult to anyone who is qualified/experienced. |

I work at Soongsil. Okay, nothing in this quotation can be argued with. However, who has a unique ESL program these days anyway? That's just my observation on the homogeneity of the industry.
Soongsil used to be unique for a stretch back in the late 20th century because this place was the first university in Korea to have smaller classes (25 or less). Now that's far from unique, and the director openly admits that. I think that's the only aspect that has ever been presented to me as having been "unique" or "great" by management.
The pay is not great. I love working here, though. You have to pay me an awful lot to work in a highly political or septic setting. I took a pay cut to come here, and I don't regret it. The atmosphere is fun yet professional. The current assistant director is A1 quality. |

that was my impression when I interviewed there with Miss A. Park in the spring. |

I also work at Soongsil. Yes, the pay is a little low, and the hours are a little high. But, the positives far outweigh the negatives. A good asst. co-ordinator, great office staff, good facutly, etc etc. I would recommend the job.
Good Luck!
