Alright. Who knows of hotels close to the base in Yongsan, that allow pets, aren't hugely expensive, and aren't skanky? I would like to know. |

I was aiming for intrigued passing traffic, so if prostitution is what does it then that's fine. Hotels? |

If we trimmed this board of these kinds of tired old jokes, it'd probably be about 25% smaller. sparkling. |

I've got bad news for you.
You won't be making any money doing private lessons.
Private lessons are illegal.
You are welcome.
ps this thread just increased by 50% due to your insightful commentary.
You are welcome.

well I don't think you really want to sleep with critters. Most hotels want to keep the rats out. I guess if you want a hotel with 'critters' that isn't skanky I'm confused. OH you mean a place for your dog...now I got it

Yup. Few days inbetween moving house, need a place that isn't gross, is big enough to house 2 people and 4 animals for a couple of nights, but isn't uber expensive. No rats is a plus. |

Aw, this is crap. I really do need somewhere to stay in the pretty immediate future. Really really no one's got any experience of this? As long as it's within walking distance / cheap taxi distance of any gate at yongsan, and takes pets, it's on the possible list. |

Really, really. Pay, the charge, get the room key, smuggle the dog in later. That's the only way you'll get past an adjoshi/ajuma in a yogwan. Seoul Motel, next to McD's in Itaewon, W30,000. Actually, I think the Hamilton Hotel takes dogs you just have to carry them in the lobby. About W140,000 a night, though.
Hang on, 4 animals? I am at a loss for words. How would I know how to get 4 dogs into a hotel? 3 nuns and a pack mule, maybe. I think you need a vet, try Itaewon Animal Hospital at Noksapyeong Stn. Not cheap, though.
USFK families also love the Kaya Hotel by the USO/Camp Kim. About W65,000. Pets, dunno. Certainly used to foreign types, though. |

Yeah really really, smuggling in 4 animals (and out again to pee, and in again, and out again to pee) for the course of 3 or 4 days doesn't seem manageable. I guess we're looking more for a bigger hotel, rather than a yogwan, because since it's between moves we'll have a lot of shit. I know it's more expensive but we might get reimbursed anyway.
I know an animal hospital would make sense but we're not up for stowing them away when it's a stressful enough time for them anyway. They don't do great with separation, I'm afraid. Anyway, one dog we're dog sitting for a friend and it's kind of rude to shove him in into a cage when we promised to look after him.
Actually just had a look at the Kaya. Hmmmm. I dunno. Good suggestion though. I think we'd pay up to like W150,000 a night. I'm searching online and finding shit but the maps suck, so i can't tell if they're close enough to base. Anyway, thanks for the input, that was really (really really) helpful.

yep - we are in a somewhat similar, if not exactly identical, boat.
1 dog (almost identical to your avatar pic) & 3 cats.
They will stay with our vet until we head out for the overnight in Incheon New - Town. We will have their carrier-cages with us, so we are hoping that will do it (we are still working the logistics of the limo bus, as well . . .)
anyway, here is an option, maybe???
What about just getting a good vet/animal hotel recc for the area, and then getting a room nearby? You could visit them, walk them to pee, etc. Total cost should be about the same (most places charge 10/space/night), and none of the attempted hotel hassles?
No, it isn't a great solution - but we work with what we have . . .
Good luck (for all of us!),
Glen & Christina
(feeling especially sympathetic, because tomorrow we are giving up our house squirrels (chipmunks; mated pair; tame; 3 yrs. old) to our vet. She is thinking about keeping them herself, but if not, we know she will find them a good home.) |
