I like a school and am thinking about sigining the contract, they seem like legit peeps.
I spoke with a few foreigner employees and they seem to be fine with the place.
Only thing is they dont pay into the pension.... what does this mean? do i have to pay into it, what goes on there, is this a really bad thing? |

It is illegal and probably means that you won't be enrolled in the national medical plan either. No insurance booklet means NO INSURANCE.
I bet your contract also states that taxes are 3.3% or 5% (double or triple the actual rate) ?
Start getting screwed before you even get on the plane. Gotta love it.

It means that the school is not a legit place. It also means they are crooks.
The foreigners there possibly are from countries other than Canada and the US* and thus "are okay" with not being charged pension contributions. They think they're getting a better deal--until the Pension Office folks discover it and make both the employer and the employee make back payments.
*I don't remember if any other country's citizens get the same deal as Canadians and Americans. |
