I live near Seoul and was hoping to buy a Zune. Does anyone know a place that definitely sells them. I assume i might be able to find one at Technomart or in Yangsan, but I was hoping for a positive sighting before i take off on an all weekend hunt. thanx in advance

I've got one, but you can't have it. They're actually only available in the US and Canada at the moment. I think it'll be a while before they make there way here.

Zune 80 is better than the iPod Classic 80 for sure. I just ordered one a couple days ago.

Really? Cool, I had no idea it was any good. Sorry about the eight-track comment--I was misinformed!

iPod is a hair slimmer but Zune has twice the screen size and an FM tuner. Zune is also Wi-Fi capable. iTunes is better though.

Yeah, the zune has come a long way since generation 1. The screen is, i think, the same size as an ipod touch. They made the click wheel touch sensitive. You can personalize your background. It will wirelessly sinc with your PC.

I sound like a microsoft ad.

If anyone wants to see the difference there are about 50 ipod classic vs zune 80 comparison videos on youtube.

I've been looking on ebay and some people offer the zune with only $20 shipping. All together, it seems id' be able to get the zune here for less than $300. Does anyone have any experience having things shipped over through ebay? Seems a bit risky. Also, is there a chance of being hit with an import ax by korea?

Sorry for getting off topic

careful with the zune, i wouldnt go there, big gatesy was paid a fortune by several record labels to bring this thing out, the idea is that you will need a licence to play certain songs- ie only play songs paid for. plus, who are you planning on swapping music with over wifi, granted the zune will play everything, but if the zune is a sucess then the record companies who have their finger up bills ass will tighten the strings on the zune

that said, itunes sucks and ipods scratch easy

Well, they're going to have to settle for fiddling with Ballmer's ass since Bill just retired... and he's taking his ass with him. Laughing

Overall i'm pretty happy with the thing, though the menus are a bit confusing at times. I've got about 20Gigs of music on there, 7 years of photos and not too many videos as all my files are not easily convertible. The marketplace plan sucks with a confusing point system used to buy things (i understand their reasons for it, but it's not consumer friendly). The radio only picks up one shitty station here (last i checked), but back home the super cool part of the radio is that it'll tell you the song title and other stuff on the screen. The screen is better than on the ipod classic but the Ipod touch's screen is pretty superior i feel (but it better be for the extra money and lesser storage combo). Technically the zune plays more formats, buts knowing if what you're buying is DRM-free or not is waaaay confusing. Best to buy from third party Amazon which is drm-free i believe. I still just buy CDs and rip to MP3s as A) they look better on display and B) a physical copy of something is always better than not having one. BUT, itunes SUCKS, SUCKS, SUCKS for ripping stuff in decent quality (there's so many goddamn pops and clicks on some really good songs i have, it's ridiculous.)
